Evaluation of Tillage Methods under Rainfed Cultivation of Cotton-Pulses Crop Rotation

نویسندگان

چکیده

Aims: To evaluate the effect of tillage methods on soil moisture storage, grain yield, economics and rain water use efficiency in semi-arid region
Study Design: Four viz. conventional tillage, Rotovator ploughing + chisel ploughing, tiller conservation (Minimum with retention crop residue) at different time ploughing.
Place Duration Study: Kovilpatti, a representative location regions Southern Tamil Nadu. This study was conducted from 2015 to 2021 alternate years rotation cotton greengram.
Methodology: The field experiments were greengram black under fed situations. Soil samples collected depths assess storage. Yield recorded cost cultivation worked out. Rainwater used for obtaining higher yield calculated. .
Results: storage subsurface layers followed by rotatvator method. For both crops, plough efficiency, net return.
Conclusion: clearly indicated that once could be adopted as promising strategy retain availability boost productivity semiarid

Long-term effects of poultry litter and conservation tillage on crop yields and soil phosphorus in cotton–cotton–corn rotation

Long-term field experiments are needed to fully realize positive and negative impacts of conservation tillage and poultry litter application. A study was initiated on a Decatur silt loam soil at the Tennessee Valley Research and Extension Center, Belle Mina, AL, USA in 1996 to evaluate cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) performance with long-term poultry litter (PL) application under different till...

Bacterial Diversity Under Different Tillage and Crop Rotation Systems in an Oxisol of Southern Brazil

Microbial diversity can be used to assess the impact of agricultural practices on the long-term sustainability of cropping systems. The aim of this study was to investigate changes in soil bacterial diversity as a result of the impact of different soil tillage and crop rotation systems in an oxisol of southern Brazil. Bacterial diversity was examined in the 010 cm layer in two field experiments...

Soil microbial metabolism and invertase activity under crop rotation and no-tillage in North China

Soil samples were collected at both jointing and maturing stages of maize and wheat to compare the effects of 4-year no-tillage (NT) and conventional tillage (CT) on seasonal variations of microbial biomass carbon (C), metabolic quotient, and invertase activity in a sandy loam soil in North China. Soil invertase activity significantly increased (P < 0.05) from summer to spring of the next year ...

Tillage effects on energy use and greenhouse gas emission in wheat-cotton rotation

Crop production process utilizes input energy and produces some biomass energy as output.  During this process, greenhouse gases (GHGs) are also emitted which can make environmental risks. In this study, input and output energies, energy indices, and GHG emissions arising from inputs were estimated for wheat-cotton rotation under different tillage practices in Fars province. The study was condu...

Evaluation of Tillage, Nitrogen Fertilizer and Crop Residue Management on some Agronomic Traits of Soybean

This study setout to investigate the effect of wheat residue, tillage, and nitrogen fertilizer management on some agronomic traits of soybean as a split split plot based on randomized complete block design with three replications. The main plots included wheat residue management: collecting and leaving residue and sub plot included tillage (without tillage and conventional tillage), and the sub...
